How to Make Seed Tape!
One of the biggest challenges facing gardeners in growing plants from seed has to do with the planting. It is important that seeds be properly spaced for optimum growth to ensue. But how do you go about getting those tiny, almost microscopic seeds set into the soil without all of them clumping together or blowing astray?
There is a simple solution that can be inexpensively concocted in your own home and most likely from supplies that you already have on hand. In order to make the seed tape you will need just a few items: a roll of toilet paper, a spray bottle full of water and the seeds you wish to plant. It is better if the toilet paper is at least 2 ply so it is thick enough to be sturdy for seed transport.
To get started, gather your supplies together. Read the back of your seed packet to discover what the proper spacing should be for the seeds you wish to grow. Unroll a length of toilet paper that will accommodate the proper spacing. Spray the center of the toilet paper with water from the spray bottle along the entire length of the paper.
